Gay couple sentenced to maximum 14 years in Malawi
BLANTYRE, Malawi (AP) - A judge sentenced a couple to the maximum 14 years in prison with hard labor under Malawi's anti-gay legislation, and crowds jeered the two men as they were driven from the court house to jail Thursday.

It seems like a backward country from what I've read. Plus 80% of the population is Christian. Backward and Christian. Texas.
I had heard (read about it rather) about this. Barely commentable. On my turf, I called Malawi "a mental hospital the size of a country". It's the best I could come up with (to express my outrage).
There's some movement in Washington. Not much, but a window is open.
