  • Tabla players think they're so cool.
(This is the one I was watching when I realised that.  This concert, in fact.  But not this specific part of the concert.)

ps  - Little Richard doesn't think too poorly of himself either.

  • Like beatniks and bongo drums?

  • No no. MUCH cooler. I'll find a picture.

  • For some reason the video is huge, it's bigger than my computer screen. It seems like they're all happy. I don't know what instrument the woman is playing but it seems that it's usually a woman who plays it. And they always seem very serene.

  • 1. Change your resolution for a little while.

    2. It's called a tanpura. She can be serene because she'd really have to work hard to screw it up.

  • What I did was click on the video and it took me to YouTube and I watched it there. I think I could play the tanpura. I'm good at droning.

  • I had to search tabla (or tablâ in French). Quite an interesting instrument. I found also very interesting the male/female analogy they mention on the French wikipedia, which is quite obvious after all, and of which not a word is spoken of on the English page. I'm not really surprised.

What I hate about those overgrown (or even not overgrown) flash videos, it's that the up/down mouse scroller stops working* when it's over them and it's very (like in VERY) annoying. *in Firefox at least.

  • I had thought the cursor problem was unique to me. Do you have a pc?

In Asia everything seems to be yin yang. It's a Siva thing.

Which reminds me. I've met someone called Mahalingam.

  • There. That should be better.

  • Much better. Also when the video is big the comments run so long that I have to scroll to read them. I lowered the resolution on my computer because I could hardly read any text when the resolution was the highest. (because everything was so small)

  • We aim to please.

  • I have a Dell desktop running with Vista. I think Flash grabs total control of the screen in the area where it is displayed, and this is probably part of their package to prevent copying their stuff. It still remain a hassle to have to run around their windows with "our" mouse to scroll on "our" computers.

I missed the Mahalingam thing. I've just passed 9 hours potting tomatoes, so my brain in in slow mode. I found something about lingam, related to hanky panky sort of, like the yin which goes into the yang if I may so say, but Maha, I'm lost.

  • raja = king

    maharaja = great king

  • Oh!

I wonder if he lives up to expectations...
