I didn’t know that. Happy belated Fête Nationale! I see in Wikipedia that it took 700 years (1291 to 1994) to make it an official ‘jour férié’. I knew the Swiss craved high precision and taking time to get things well done, but isn’t this a little overdoing it? (Just kidding)
For a country known for its work ethic to celebrate its creation with a day off is the height of irony.
