Thanks for the 10$ bill offer (I know it was not intended to me but I pretend it was ) but I'm still stuck with an 86$ stockpile of American 1$ and 5$ which I bought the last time I went to Cuba and never got to use. And that was before Cuba put a 10% surcharge on exchanging American dollars. Now they're totally worthless to me (as compared to what I paid for them). I'm thinking about charging the US Federal Reserve a storage fee. I keep them stashed somewhere out of view. It's really ugly paper money. They look like what ours looked like in the 19th century. Passé man, passé. And of what we hear on the international economic news from some "pays émergents", maybe near to be passé period. I mean, when even Cuba lifts its nose on it, you know there's a problem. Minimally.
Now that Roger Federer's life companion has given birth (to twins apparently), many here (including some tennis lovers in the pool of my work colleagues) hope he'll show up for the (some commercial name I don't recall) men's tournament held here in August at Parc Jarry, not far from my pad.
Do you use one of those kinky AZERTY keyboards? I've seen a drought spelled draught in some American site's comments box and got all confused about which kind of thirst exactly it was all about.

Embarrassing spelling mistake. I almost just deleted my entry. But there's no point airbrushing only a tiny part of my life.
Half of heterosexual couples here (regardless if they have children or not) are not married. Another one of those Québec 'things' I guess. We use "conjoint" most of the time to cover both situations, often dropping the "de fait" when it's the case. I just feel (probably a Banyuls 'thing') that its English version 'spouse' is too technical sounding, aka more about a contractual agreement than about mutual love. I thought life companion would be better in this case. But I have to admit that here "compagnon de vie" is usually seen in gays' obituaries, so I guess it was not really a good choice of mine.
I didn't know about the QWERTZ. I use a Multilingual keyboard (based on a Cdn Standard and an ISO one) which is mandatory for Quebec government computers (it covers French, English, Spanish and another language I'm not sure of). Almost no one besides govt employees use it, and it's too bad because when you get used to it, it can't be beaten for its versatility (in our context). And with the pictograms, needless to say language is not an issue.
